Happy Mother’s Day

This year Mother’s day is on 10th May which is today. Why is mother’s day celebrated? Like any other day mother’s day is celebrated to honor our mothers. It is to honor motherhood and maternal bonds. Not that every day shouldn’t be special for your mother, it’s just that this day means a lot because we all have work to do and sometimes we get so caught up in our lives that we forget to value the more important things. Many people may think these days are kind of stupid but I think it helps us celebrate the important people in our lives. Father’s Day, Friendship day, mother’s day, sibling day, teachers day and children’s day are all celebrated because that is one day of the year when we do something special or make someone feel special for the important part that they have played in our lives and so I will do just that. Today is the day to honor my mother and show her that she means a lot more to me than I can express in words.

I’ve been thinking but I don’t know where to start because she is such an incredible woman and I have so many things to say about her so I’ll start by saying she is one of the strongest females I know and I am not just saying that because she is my mother. She has had a very difficult past, harder than most people have it but she got through it. She had to deal with a lot but she never complains. She is one of the most hardworking people I know. She started with nothing, and by that I mean her career. She has worked every day of her life to be successful. She didn’t have much help and she worked days and nights. The thing about her is that like most people she did not chase money because she worked because she liked her job not because she was greedy for money. My mom found the purpose of her life through work.

My mom has always been more than just a mom to me. She is a friend to me, probably my closest friend. Usually people in my life tend to leave and since she’s my mom she’s always there. There are so many things that I have shared with her that I probably never have with anybody else and then there are things that she has never shared with anyone else but me. We have a difference of opinion. I have disagreements with her about so many topics but the funny part about it is that I can talk to her about those things. Somehow debates and arguments turn fun with her.

Mom is a person who would get up in the middle of the night just because you are in pain. They are the people who will love more than anybody else till the very end of time. She will take care of you every second of every minute but she will also let you go when you find your purpose in life. She will support through your worst and celebrate you at your best. Mothers are the only people who can stay balanced between their worlds, work, and home. She will go to the ends of the earth to protect you. She will give you love, sometimes even when you don’t you deserve it. She will scold you but by doing so she’d be hurting herself more than she would be hurting you. She will push you to the limits so you can be a better person. She tries to give you what she never had because only she knows how difficult life can be without it. After having to carry you for 9 months inside her you become the biggest part of her. Seeing you cry makes her cry. Watching you walk for the first time is the greatest joy for her. There is no one like a mother because only a mother can truly love you unconditionally. So on this day, I would like to wish my beautiful, smart, and extraordinary mother, a very happy mother’s day. Along with her I would like to wish both my grandmother’s a happy mother’s day too because they had a huge hand in how I turned out today.

I’d be lying if I said I want to grow up and be just like them because when I grow up I want to be just like me and that is because of them. They are the best role models I have had in my life. How each of them has to build a life is something I will always look up to. They taught me well and I have the best of all of them and maybe that’s why when I grow up I want to like me because that’s what they’ve always taught me. Not enough thank you will ever do them justice. The life that they have given me is something I will be eternally grateful for. I’ll always be thankful for the morals and the values they have taught me but I am most thankful for the love that they have given me and there aren’t enough words for me to express my love for them. There are no words that can describe how thankful I am for having a mother as I do. So I’ll keep it very simple, thank you, mom, for everything you have ever done for me. Thank you for taking care of me and standing by me through my worst. I know I can be a handful sometimes and I’m sorry for that but I want you to know that I love you and I’ll love you till the very end of time.

Send this to your mother or anybody who is like a mother to you to tell them how much you love them.
